Jordana Brewster is an American actress and model. She is known for starring in the The Fast and the Furious series.

Jordana was born in Panama, grew up in England and Brazil until the age of ten, and then moved to New York City. Her father, Alden Brewster, is American-born, and has English, Scottish, and Irish ancestry. Her mother, Maria João (de Sousa), is Brazilian, and of at least part Portuguese ancestry. Jordana talked about her Brazilian heritage in an interview with Craig Ferguson. Jordana is married to producer Andrew Form, with whom she has two children.

Jordana’s patrilineal line traces back to William Brewster (c. 1566-1644), a Mayflower passenger and noted Pilgrim. Among many of William’s other descendants are actors Paget Brewster, Chevy Chase, Taylor Lautner, Seth MacFarlane, and Brandon Routh, soccer player Clint Dempsey, Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld, U.S. Vice Presidents Hannibal Hamlin and Nelson Rockefeller, and Governor of Arkansas Winthrop Rockefeller. Jordana’s father’s ancestry is heavily English. Branches of his family have been in the United States, and, specifically, in New England, since the 1600s.

Jordana’s paternal grandfather was Kingman Brewster, Jr. (the son of Kingman Brewster and Florence Foster Besse). Jordana’s grandfather Kingman was born in Massachusetts, U.S., and served as the 55th United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom, and as President of Yale University. Jordana’s great-grandfather Kingman was the son of Charles Kingman Brewster and Celina Sophia Baldwin. Florence was the daughter of Lyman Waterman Besse and Henrietta Louisa Segee.

Jordana’s paternal grandmother was Mary Louise Phillips (the daughter of Eugene James Phillips and Mary Louise Griffin). Jordana’s grandmother Mary Louise was born in Rhode Island. Eugene was the son of Riley E. Phillips, who was born in Connecticut, and of Frances L., who was Scottish. Mary Louise was the daughter of John H. Griffin, who was of Irish descent, and of Kate.

Jordana’s maternal grandfather was named Fernando de Sousa. “de Sousa” is a Portuguese surname. Jordana’s mother also has the surname “Leal” in her family tree, which is often Portuguese (on rarer occasions, it is Spanish).

  1. anyway she is pretty and does look mixed. i wouldn’t doubt that that she has black ancestry. most brazilians have some black in them even though they may appear “european looking”. most brazilians also have native ancestry too. this chick looks multiracial

  2. When the first Portuguese fleet commanded by Pedro Alvares Cabral had finally approached Brazilian coast in 1500 there were no European women so they would made love with Indigenous women from local tribes. And of course the children who were born as a result of those affairs could call themselves Portuguese Brazilian but they were still mixed, right?

  3. Even those Brazilians who claim themselves to be “white” are not “pure white”. They are all mixed with African slaves and/or Amerindians. Well, at least majority of them:) The rest of them are mixed with either Middle Eastern and/or Asian. So there actually no white people in Brazil lol Portuguese Brazilian implies that you have Portuguese blood in your veins along with others:) Particularly in Brazil.

    1. i agree with you affellay. brazilians are probably the most mixed people on this planet. that’s why brazil has a lot of attractive people. most of the supermodels are brazilian. adriana lima is beautiful and she has black, asian, white, and native american in her. the more mixed you are, the more attractive you are

      1. Why exactly was I given a thumbs down for stating correct information? They are Latino, but they are NOT Hispanic. In order to be Hispanic, you would have to come from a Spanish-speaking country. That’s the literal definition of the word. Brazilians do NOT speak Spanish; they speak Portuguese. It’s not my fault you guys use words and don’t even know what they mean.

  4. Saying you are Brazilian is not like saying you are American, most Brazilians are mestizos as the Puerto Ricans, Mexicans and Cubans, is not like in America. It would be like saying:”Saying you are Mexican is like saying you are American.”does not make much sense.

        1. Where do you think Portuguese people come from? Hello! PORTUGAL! Where is Portugal? Europe. What are Europeans? White people. Not all of us European and European descendants have peachy skin and blond hair. Some look like Eva Mendes or Jordana or Penelope Cruz. They are all White people. Good grief!

          1. Do yourself a favor and look up Spanish genetics on youtube. You will happily find that their genetics are COMMON for ANY Western European peoples. The ignorance on Spanish and Portuguese people is absolutely astounding!

    1. Puerto Rican also is not an ethnicity and
ethnic always list a celebrity as a Puerto Rican, not Spanish Puerto Rican.
If this site don’t have a source that proves that Jordana is Portuguese Brazilian, why not just leave her ethnicity as Brazilian and Anglo-American?

    2. Saying you are Brazilian is not like saying you are American, most Brazilians are mestizos as the Puerto Ricans, Mexicans and Cubans, is not like in America. It would be like saying:”Saying you are Mexican is like saying you are American.”does not make much sense.

  5. To ethnic

NO I do have that anymore, but I do have another source. It’s a creole site, they deal with any celebrity who’s creole or any kind of mixture.Give me a few days to find it again,my other computer crash and took all my information with it.
