Jolin Tsai is a Taiwanese singer, songwriter, and actress. She is one of the leading figures in Chinese pop culture, and is known as the “Queen of C-Pop.”

Her father, Tsai Chu-chen, an accountant, is of Han Chinese descent. Her mother, Huang Chun-mei, is of half Han Chinese and half Papora origin. Her father opened a factory in Thailand and operated a Thai migrant worker agency.

Jolin’s maternal grandmother is a Papora, from Puli, Nantou.
