John Dalgleish Donaldson is a Scottish-Australian mathematics professor.

He is the son of Mary (Dalgleish) and Capt. Peter Donaldson. He is married to English novelist Susan Moody (Susan Elizabeth Horwood). He has four children with his former wife Henrietta Clark “Etta” Horne, including Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark.

John’s paternal grandfather was Alexander Donaldson (the son of Peter Donaldson and Annie Horn). Peter was the son of John Donaldson and Margaret Dickson. Annie was the daughter of John Horn and Jane Jones.

John’s paternal grandmother was Jean Stevenson (the daughter of John Stevenson and Roy Ritchie). John was the son of Thomas Stevenson and Frances Young. Roy was the daughter of Alexander Ritchie and Margaret Preston Conner.

John’s maternal grandfather was John Dalgleish (the son of Charles Dalgleish and Jane Hay). Charles was the son of John Dalgleish and Elizabeth Garvie. Jane was the daughter of James Hay and Mary Liddle.

John’s maternal grandmother was Barbara McDonald Baisley (the daughter of Andrew Baisley and Jessie Sutherland). Andrew was the son of George Baisley and Ann Brown. Jessie was the daughter of Alexander Sutherland and Barbara.
