John Curtin was an Australian politician. He served as Prime Minister of Australia, from 7 October, 1941 to 5 July, 1945. He was also Leader of the Opposition, from 23 September, 1935 to 7 October, 1941, and Leader of the Labor Party, from 23 September, 1935 to 5 July, 1945.

Prime Minister Curtin was the son of Catherine Agnes (Bourke) and John Curtin. His parents were immigrants from County Cork, Ireland.

Prime Minister Curtin’s paternal grandparents were John Curtin (the son of Cornelius Curtin) and Mary Hanlon.

Prime Minister Curtin’s maternal grandparents were John Bourke (the son of John Bourke and Catherine O’Leary) and Hannah Ellard.
