The professional wrestler has released a rap album called You Can’t See Me, and has appeared on the movie The Marine. According to a few websites it is claimed that the WWE star has Albanian ethnicity while some others believe he is of Italian origin.
A good article on associatedcontent.com states that Cena is from an Italian American family. It is possible that Cena is Arbereshe, an ethnic Albanian group that moved to Southern Italy and Sicily from the 1500s. It is said that these people moved out of Albania to escape the Ottoman invasion. Although they often adopted Italian names, these people are proud of their Albanian roots and retain their Arbereshe language.
His mother was born Carol Lupien. Her father, Tony Lupien, was a baseball player whose parents were French-Canadian. His wife (John’s maternal grandmother), was named Natalie Nichols, an English last name.

Just to let you people know, even Joe DioGuardi (congresmen) was known like an Italian till when he started the movements in support of Albanians in Ballkan Penninsula, and he declared world wide that he was a proud Albanian from the comunity of Arbëresh in South Italy.
The whole south of Italy and Sicily is full of “Arbëresh” Albanians, that went to Italy with the request of the king of Naples, after the death of the great Albanian king, that defended the Europe “Scanderbeg”
Those Arbëresh, of course today are called Italians, but they are proud Albanians, and John Cena is one of them.

He is albanian, in my opinion, and why i am from albania..He problably is Arbereshe, from Calabria or Sicily, italian from albanian heritage(albanians immigrated to italy to save their religion (roman catholic) and their culture from ottomans.also albanians immigrated to croatia (zadar), to greece (attica, arvanites) and to turkey in 1500 )..
