John Boozman is an American politician. A Republican, he has been a U.S. Senator from Arkansas, since January 3, 2011. He was previously a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Arkansas, from November 20, 2001 to January 3, 2011.

John is the son of Marie E. (Nichols) and Fay Winford Boozman, Jr., a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. His brother, Fay Boozman, was also a politician. He is married to Cathy Marley, with whom he has three children.

John’s paternal grandfather was named Fay Winford Boozman (the son of James W./M. Boozman and Mary Jane). Fay was born in Oklahoma. James was the son of James M. Boozman and Percilla A. “Polly.”

John’s paternal grandmother was Thelma Patricia Furlong (the daughter of George Henry Furlong and Fannie Louise Morgan). Thelma was born in Mississippi. George was the son of Alec Furlong, who was Irish. Fannie was the daughter of James Monroe Morgan and Virginia Caroline Bachman.

John’s maternal grandfather was named John Samuel/Samuels Nichols, Jr. (the son of John Samuel/Samuels Nichols and Marie H.). John’s grandfather John was born in Pennsylvania.
