Jill Stein is an American physician, activist, and politician. She has campaigned on a Green New Deal, addressing climate change, income inequality, and political reform.

She is a candidate for the Green Party’s nomination for President of the United States in 2024.

She was previously the Green Party’s nominee for President of the United States in 2012 and 2016.

Jill is the daughter of Gladys (Wool) and Joseph Stein. She was raised in Highland Park, Illinois. She is married to physician Richard Rohrer, with whom she has two children.

Jill’s paternal grandfather was named Abraham “Abe” Stein. Abraham was a Jewish emigrant, from Russia/Poland.

Jill’s paternal grandmother was Lillian/Lily Zeidman/Zudman/Zeldman (the daughter of Joseph Zeidman and Sarah Green). Lillian was born in London, England, to Russian Jewish parents.

Jill’s maternal grandfather was Israel William Wool (the son of Aaron Wool and Rose Lerner). Israel was a Jewish emigrant, from Volhynia. Aaron was the son of Joseph Wool.

Jill’s maternal grandmother was named Mae Surslossky/Swislow. Mae was a Russian Jewish immigrant.
