Something about his eye shape that’s Spanish or Italian.

Kimmel February 14, 2016 at 6:38 pm

I always thought he was Danish & Greek. Where is the surname ‘Ackles’ from?

follers February 14, 2016 at 7:11 pm

Denmark or Greece.

Kimmel May 16, 2016 at 12:24 pm

Okay, thanks.

The identically pronounced variant Eccles appears 12 times more often and nearly all of them live in England, Canada, the US and other English-speaking Commonwealth nations; about 40 % in England. So it’s a good guess that it’s an English name. (Ackles 1,300/Eccles 15,000 people worldwide)

Jensen Ackles’ great-grandmother Adanelle was the either the daughter of Cora E Hamaker, descended from Johann Adam Hamacher who was German, or another Cora named with the surname Wolfe, which isn’t all that interesting. What is interesting however was Adanelle’s father Joseph F Porter’s mother, Mary Ann Freeman’s great-great-grandmother Tabitha Hoyter, was the daughter of Thomas Hoyter and Chowanoke Indian. Or another way to put it is, Jensen’s 8th great grandmother was a Chowanoke Indian.

Sorry, but how do you know that Joseph Franklin Porter was Adanelle’s father? Although it does seem likely from the census.

And how do you know who Mary Ann Freeman’s parents were?
This record says they were John Freeman and E.H.

I found the information in several very detailed family trees on, which unfortunately I do not have access anymore. ::sigh:: I suppose when I regain access to the site I’ll present more detailed findings.

It’s not totally confirmed that Tabitha was the daughter of Chowanoke Thomas Hoyter, although it is possible.

One of the hottest white men in Hollywood.

ihatemostpeople April 8, 2014 at 2:33 am

Yes he is one fine ass white man. Him and Jared Padalecki.

Anya May 5, 2012 at 3:10 pm

He looks so Scottish to me…like most guys you would see in Edinburgh or Aberdeen :)

nnnnn December 17, 2012 at 12:39 pm

“he looks so Scottish to me”… Why not english? Why not
irish? Why not german? Can smb explain a difference?

ihatemostpeople April 8, 2014 at 2:35 am

nnnnn- LMAO I know right? I honestly cannot tell the difference between an Irish person and a German, or a Swedish person and an Polish person. They’re all white!!

Fabo January 6, 2015 at 5:55 am

White is not an ethnicity, and there is certainly a difference between them. There is little difference between a Scot and and Englishmen. But you’re insane if you can’t tell the difference between a Pole and a Swede, they have entirely different phenotypes and features in the face. A blonde pole will never look like a blonde Sweden. Germans overlap with the British genetically but the difference is Germans are more faelid and have more robust types with harsher faces same with austrians. You will never find a Brit who looks like Arnold Swarzenegger

Fabo January 6, 2015 at 5:58 am

Adding to that. White is a meaningless term. A term that gained popularity during colonial America. A term used to seperate Europeans from the indigenous populations and slave. However it means nothing genetically. An Italian and Brit are as far away from each other on genetic map as a Russian is to a Greek. White is as much a race as Latino is.

Freerk April 28, 2015 at 5:50 pm

In fact you will hardly find an Austrian who looks like Schwarzenegger …

marjanel February 20, 2016 at 8:57 pm

Sorry but that white are diverse, it doesn’t mean that its havs the amount of right to be not called a race as latino.Latino is not a race in the sense that Anglophone is not.But white?.You can’t compare.

Freerk April 28, 2015 at 5:47 pm

Nevertheless there are a number of regionally typical faces. If you know enough examples of those typical faces, you can very well tell an Irish from a German, a Swede or a Russian. Given someone has one of that typical faces …

Depending on my experience, he could as well be an English as a German or a Northern French, so he is probably English … O_o

“ihatemostpeople” – There is a big difference between most Irish and Germans. The Irish have some distinctive traits around the eyes, eyebrows, chin etc (as well as distinctive hair and eye colouring) that are quite obvious if you get to know them, and there are certain obvious Germanic looks. Most ethnic Brits are a bit more a mix of Celtic and Germanic blood (as well as others), so we are a bit less dsitinctive, although there are still lots of people from America that I’d say look British.

ses101 May 22, 2018 at 2:20 pm

nnnnn Although there are a lot of similar looking people in Britain, Germany, Ireland, etc, there are some local traits. For example, there are some VERY noticeable Irish looks and if you come from Britain you can tell the difference. Some people in Britain look a bit German, but with less defined (or harsh) features, which probably comes from Britain being a bit more of a mix. Explaining the difference is hard without showing you hundreds of pictures.

notional August 13, 2013 at 5:49 am

He really does look Scottish, I’m surprised he isn’t more.

ses101 May 22, 2018 at 2:41 pm

Speaking as a Scot, he could easily pass for being Scottish. People down the East side of Scotland are ethnically a bit more Northern European with lighter hair and blue eyes.

Uniscorn August 9, 2014 at 3:09 am

Well I know where I’m moving too….

Rabco March 20, 2011 at 10:03 pm

Jensen also has some very small amount of American Indian blood as well.

April October 7, 2011 at 11:37 am

Seriously? That is awesome! =D Lol. But also confusing. Damn you Jensen Ackles you goregous man you! Why couldn’t you be something simple like Polish American like Jared or Russian American like Misha? xD

Fabo January 6, 2015 at 5:59 am

No he doesn’t. Stop trying to claim every good looking white american having partial native ancestry.

ethnic March 24, 2010 at 10:54 am
