Jawed Karim is a German-American software engineer and Internet entrepreneur. He is one of the founders of YouTube, along with Steve Chen and Chad Hurley. He is the first person to upload a video on it. His father, Naimul Karim, is a Bangladeshi researcher. His mother, Christine, is German. He was raised in Neuss, West Germany, and his family moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota, U.S., in 1992.
