Jason Castro is an American professional baseball player. He is a catcher, who played for the Houston Astros, the Minnesota Twins, the Los Angeles Angels, and the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Jason is married to Maris Perlman, with whom he has three children. The two have founded Castro’s Kids, a Houston-area literacy program.

Jason’s paternal grandfather was Thomas “Tom” Castro (the son of Pedro/Pete Castro and Maria/Mary Teran). Thomas was born in California. Pedro was born in Arizona or Mexico, to Mexican parents, Tiofilo Castro and Jesus Gonsales. Maria was born in Mexico.

Jason’s paternal grandmother is Pearl Marie Supriano (the daughter of Manuel Supriano and Mildred Theresa Silva). Pearl was born in California. Manuel was born in California, the son of Portuguese emigrants from São Miguel, Azores, John Supriano and Maria/Mary Correira.

Jason’s maternal grandfather is William D. Swenson (the son of David Swen Swenson/Swensen and Amy Howerton). William was born in South Dakota. David was the son of Andrew William N. Swensen, who was born in Iowa, to Swedish parents, and of Lillie Belle Stephen. Amy was the daughter of George Oliver Howerton and Mary Elizabeth Hoover.

Jason’s maternal grandmother was Juanita Rose Gosnell (the daughter of Rosevelt/Roosevelt Milton Gosnell and Gladys Pipkin). Juanita was born in Missouri. Rosevelt was the son of Buckhannan/Buchannan Gosnell and Suvilla/Savilla Shelton.
