Hanson is an American pop rock band formed by brothers Isaac Hanson (guitar, bass, piano, vocals), Taylor Hanson (keyboards, piano, guitar, drums, vocals), and Zac Hanson (drums, piano, guitar, vocals).

They are the sons of Diana and Clarke Hanson. Isaac is married to Nicole Dufresne, with whom he has three children. Taylor is married to Natalie Bryant, with whom he has seven children. Zac is married to Kathryn Tucker, with whom he has five children.

Hanson’s patrilineal ancestry can be traced back to their third great-grandfather, Hans Hansen (later Hanson).

A few of Hans’s ancestors were Native American (Cherokee and Patawomke).

Hanson’s paternal grandfather was Clarke Daniel Hanson (the son of Andrew/Andy Peter Hanson and Mildred Viroqua Walker). Clarke was born in Kansas. Andy was the son of Danish emigrants, Lars Hansen, later Louis Hanson, and Ane Lisbeth Pedersen, later Anna Elizabeth “Lizzie” Peterson, who were from Gunderslev, Sorø. Mildred was the daughter of Samuel Benton Walker and Jessie Laura Bear.

Hanson’s paternal grandmother was Dorothy Josephine “Bea” Beasley (the daughter of James Roscoe Beasley and Lucy Avy/Ava Mary “Ava” Kelley). Dorothy was born in Oklahoma. James was the son of James William Beasley and Sarah C. Parks. Lucy was the daughter of William David Kelley and Nancy Elizabeth Walker.

Hanson’s maternal grandfather is Clyde Addison Lawyer (the son of Emanuel Lewis Lawyer and Della Estella Jarvis). Emanuel was the son of James Addison Lawyer and Rebecca Ann Tackit. Della was the daughter of John Henry Jarvis and Mary Jane Williams.

Hanson’s maternal grandmother is Jane Ann Nelson (the daughter of Stephen Boice Nelson and Frances Elizabeth Whitfield). Stephen was the son of John Thomas Nelson and Minerva Eliza Wilson. Frances was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Whitfield and Emma Grant Hopkins.

Hanson’s matrilineal ancestry can be traced back to their fifth great-grandmother, Susannah Moyers.

I think these guys are famous enough for it to matter whether their Native American ancestors are verified or not. There are no evidence in the sources. Whether it exists elsewhere I don’t know. Until then, it should be removed. And while were at it, just leave:

    English, 1/8th Danish

Are you saying to only list English and Danish?

      • madman says:

Yes. I tried looking for other genealogies of their ancestors, but there are surprisingly few. And the ones that exists doesn’t go that far back. So until everything else is verified, yes.
(I guess some surnames does indicate other ancestry, like Irish and German).

Frank Sinatra was 100% Italian & he definitely was a white man. Peter Facinelli, American actor born in 1973, is the son of Italian immigrants, he’s one of the whitest people you’ll see. Check out Italian footballers Ignazio Abate & Danielle De Rossi, they’re 100% Italian, but I’m thinking most would disagree because they’re blonde & blue eyed
