Greyston is the son of Nancy and Michael Stefancsik. He was raised on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. His paternal grandparents moved from Hungary to Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, in 1957. His maternal grandmother moved from Hungary to Canada in 1927. Greyston has one child with his partner Cristina Rosato.
