Gegard Mousasi is a Dutch martial artist, kickboxer, and boxer. He competes in Bellator MMA, where he has been #2 in the Bellator Middleweight Rankings. He is an overall six-time MMA world champion, having been a two-time Bellator Middleweight Champion, a DREAM Light Heavyweight Champion, a DREAM Middleweight Champion, a Cage Warriors World Middleweight Champion, and a Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion. He is nicknamed “The Dreamcatcher.”

Gegard was born in Tehran, to parents of Armenian descent. The family name was originally Mofsesian. The family left the country during the Iran–Iraq War, and spent time in refugee camps, before moving to Leiden, Netherlands. He learned judo in his early years. His brother, Gewik Mousasi, is also an MMA fighter, and trainer. Gegard is an Armenian Apostolic Christian.
