  1. Annika says:

It´s not entirely impossible for her to have some portugese ancestry, in southern India and Bangladesh there were portugese christian pepople who stayed there. If her forefathers are portugese you wouldn’t see Freida having light eyes. Yes, I do think she must have some kind of mix, she has a very western face (small nose), compared to most of the actresses in Bollywood.

she’s attractive and all I guess but I don’t see any exotic features.

  3. Shelly says:

Frieda Pinto is beautiful and 100% Indian.

  4. Jim says:

her last name is Portuguese or Spanish, but she makes no mention of being anything but Indian…

    • ethnic says:

Christians Konkanis adopted Portuguese names when the Portuguese arrived. This may explain her surname.

so why is it when an indian person with a portuguese surname is not seen as having portuguese ancestry, (most of the time) but when a filipino has a spanish name they are quick to say they are effing ‘spanish’? no their not, they just claim to be spanish because they want to be exotic its been said that only 3% of the population actually have spanish ancestry, and all of them just happen to be celebrities and everyday people (sarcasm)

          • kathleen says:

and even if they were spanish they would actually look european, they all look asian/malay. or if they were half spanish they would look like enrique iglesias’ mother who actually looks asian and european

  5. Sven says:

Indian\European isn’t “Eurasian”, that is East Asian/European. Indians and Europeans are Caucasians and most Indians and most Europeans are Indo-European.

    • Kelan says:

Actually, the term ‘Eurasian’ was originally coined to mean what are now known as Anglo Indians-people of Indian and paternal European ancestry. But you are right, both Europeans and Indians are caucasian.

(it might help to know that the word Asian in the UK refers to South Asians and in the U.S. and many other countries Asian refers the East Asian.)
