Farrah Fawcett was an American actress, model, and artist. She is known for her roles on the show Charlie’s Angels and in the films Extremities, The Apostle, and Logan’s Run, among other works. She was also credited as Farrah Fawcett-Majors, while married to actor Lee Majors, and Farrah Faucet.

Farrah was the daughter of Pauline Alice (Evans) and James William Fawcett. Until her death, her long-time partner was actor Ryan O’Neal. The couple had a son, Redmond O’Neal.

She is sometimes described as having had French or Choctaw Native American ancestry. It is not clear if these said ancestral lines have been verified/documented. Farrah is also sometimes stated as having had Lebanese ancestry, perhaps because her first name is of Arabic origin. However, she was not of Arab descent.

Farrah’s paternal grandfather was William Albert Fawcett (the son of John Fawcett and Clara Flavel/Flavell). William was born in Texas, to English parents. John was born in Hull, Yorkshire, the son of David Fawcett and Elizabeth Inchbold Green. Clara was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, the daughter of Benjamin Flavell and Esther Elizabeth Wood.

Farrah’s paternal grandmother was Myrtle Ola Hixon (the daughter of William Elbert “Billie” Hixon and Mary E. “Mollie” Steen). Myrtle was born in Texas. William was the son of Richard Hickson/Hixon and Margaret Ann Henderson.

Farrah’s maternal grandfather was John Henry Evans (the son of Starlin James Evans and Charolette Charity McManus). John was born in Louisiana, to parents from South Carolina. Starlin was the son of William H. Evans and Cynthia Mourning Diggs. Charolette was the daughter of Hugh Luke McManus, whose father’s family was from Tipperary, Ireland; and of Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Campbell.

Farrah’s maternal grandmother was Martha Ann “Mattie” Johnson (the daughter of Robert Owen Johnson and Nancy Jane “Jennie” Mefford). Martha was born in Kentucky. Robert was the son of William Johnson and Mary Elizabeth Miller. Nancy was likely the daughter of John Quincy Mefford and Priscilla/Pricey/Pricy Harmon.

I don’t know whether this is true or not but According to a 2009 story in The Daily Mail, “Her Lebanese father, an oilman, had named her after the Arabic for joy, Ferrah. But she asked her parents to change her name to Farrah and they agreed”..
