Eric Greitens is an American politician, author, and humanitarian. He is a Navy SEAL. A Republican, he served as Governor of Missouri, from January 9, 2017 to June 1, 2018.

His father is Catholic, and is of German, English, French, and Irish descent. His mother is Jewish. Eric was raised in the Jewish faith.

He has two children with his former wife Sheena Chestnut.

Eric’s paternal grandfather was August Robert Greitens, Sr. (the son of Charles Edward Greitens and Ethel Denton). Charles was the son of Henry Greitens and Ida Mary Powell.

Eric’s paternal grandmother was Jeanette Rosemary Mayol (the daughter of Emil Matthew Mayol and Cecelia/Celia/Cecil Dora Andrew). Jeanette was born in Illinois. Emil was born in Illinois, the son of French parents, Joseph Felix/Phelise Augusta Mayol and Clara F. Aval. Cecelia was the daughter of John Andrew, who was born in England, and of Bridget Reynolds, who was born in Ireland.

Eric’s maternal grandfather was Harold A. Jacobs (the son of Samuel Jacobs and Rebecca Newman). Harold was born in Illinois, to a Jewish family. Samuel was born in Poland.

Eric’s maternal grandmother was Beatrice Cholodenko (the daughter of Adolph Cholodenko and Rose Rubenstein). Beatrice was born in Ohio, to a Jewish family. Adolph was born in Korostyshiv, Korostyshivs’kyi district, Zhytomyrs’ka oblast, Ukraine.
