Emilíana Torrini is an Icelandic singer and songwriter. She is known for the 2009 single “Jungle Drum.”

Her father, Salvatore Torrini, or Davíð Eiríksson in Icelandic, is an Italian restaurant owner, from Naples. Her mother, Anna Stella Snorradóttir, is Icelandic, and has Icelandic, Danish, Norwegian, as well as distant French, ancestry.

Emilíana’s maternal grandfather was Snorri Gíslason (the son of Gísli Viggó Guðlaugsson and Kristjana Jónsdóttir). Snorri was born in Reykjavík. Gísli was the son of Guðlaugur Skúlason and Una Gísladóttir. Kristjana was the daughter of Jón.

Emilíana’s maternal grandmother is Emilía L’Orange (the daughter of Aage Reinhold L’Orange and Álfheiður Tómasdóttir). Aage was the son of Danish emigrant, Aage Reinhold L’Orange, of Randers, and of Caroline Emilie Möller. Álfheiður was the daughter of Tómas Jónsson and Sigríður Sighvatsdóttir.
