El DeBarge is an American singer, songwriter, producer, and musician. He was a member of singing sibling family group DeBarge, who were well known in the 1980s.
His father, Robert Louis DeBarge, Sr., was white, and had French, English, Irish, and remote German, ancestry. His mother, Etterlene (Abney), was black. His niece is singer Kristina DeBarge. El is said to have twelve children.
El’s paternal grandfather was John Arthur Baptist DeBarge (the son of Arthur DeBarge and Mary Blane West). John was born in Indiana. El’s great-grandfather Arthur was born in France, the son of Jean-Baptiste DeBarge and Celina Mollett. Mary Blane was the daughter of Thomas Benton West and Emma Rada North Miller.
El’s paternal grandmother was Frances Jane Walters (the daughter of Ira Milton Walters and Minerva Dawson). Frances was born in Illinois. Ira was the son of John Thomas Walters and Lillie J. Cox. El’s seventh great-grandfather, Johannes Jakob Walters, was German.
El’s maternal grandfather was named William Abney (the son of Willie Lee Abney). Willie was the son of William Washington Abney and Mary Missouri Gibson.

actually not mixed coz they’re all European ppl, btw originally French were Gauls (Celts), then they were Latinized by Romans (that’s why they speak a Romance language), finally they knew the Frankish rule (Barbaric invaders from Germany) who gave them the current name, France.
i always liked the oldest brother bobby so cute r.i.p all the debarge family are very good-looking people no doubt. i thought their were 1/2 black & latino. 2 damm bad they’ll all turn 2 be a bunch of DOPE ADDICTS what a stupid way of life 2 choose their good looks are all gone now i seen randy, james, & bunny on the dr. drew show back in nov’11 they look awful begging 4 dope on the show. all 3 of them refused help what a shame, at el still looks great!! love his song sereneing you.
El Debarge is a fabulous entertainer. Funny how every race tries to claim the famous and beautiful people. He has lived as a Black man due to the cruel treatment from his white father. I’m not saying that is denies who his father was, but it was who Black mother who loved him and raised him.
