My own race ever called me that I would get a nail and hammer and knog it in their hand and tell them. "I am not that!" 'Cause it is very disrespectful. Nobody that is Irish-American likes being called English. I would not do anything else 'cause everybody deserves a spot in the world. Antonio Menchaca proved that in the 1800s he was not Mexican at all, but a Texan by having a Mexican killed for calling him Mexican.. Criollos, Texans, and other people mixed with a heritage don't like that name, and would propably do the same if you kept edging it on. He is not mexican..
