Donald Trump

by ethnic on January 6, 2015

Birth Name: Donald John Trump

Place of Birth: Queens, New York City, New York, U.S.

Date of Birth: June 14, 1946

*German (father)
*Scottish (mother)

Donald Trump is an American politician, businessperson, investor, television personality, and writer. He is the 45th President of the United States, having been inaugurated on January 20, 2017. He was elected to the position in 2016, running on the Republican Party’s ticket. He was the chairman and CEO of the Trump Organization, and hosted the reality show The Apprentice from 2004 to 2015, among other pursuits. He was also a candidate for the Reform Party’s nomination for President of the United States in 2000.

He is again running for his party’s nomination for President, in 2020.

He was Time Magazine’s Person of the Year for 2016.

President Trump’s father, Fred Trump (Frederick Christ Trump), a real estate developer, was born in New York, to German immigrants. President Trump’s mother, Mary Anne (MacLeod), was Scottish, born in Stornoway, on the Isle of Lewis. She came to the U.S. around 1929, at the age of seventeen, and worked as a maid in New York. Mary Anne became a U.S. citizen in 1942.

President Trump’s sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, is a prominent judge. President Trump’s uncle (his father’s brother) was John G. Trump (John George Trump), an electrical engineer, inventor, and physicist.

All four of President Trump’s grandparents were born outside of the United States.

President Trump is married to Slovenian-born model Melania Trump; he was previously married to Ivana Trump and Marla Maples. He has five children, Donald Trump, Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump, all three with Ivana, Tiffany Trump, with Marla, and Barron Trump, with Melania. Most of them work in business. Donald, Jr. is married to model Vanessa Trump, Ivanka is married to businessperson and investor Jared Kushner, and Eric is married to producer Lara Trump.

While it is sometimes stated that President Trump’s grandfather was born under the surname Drumpf, this is not accurate. The family surname was simply Trump going back at least several generations.

In his 1987 book, The Art of the Deal, and evidently in some other sources from as late as the 1980s, President Trump stated that his paternal grandfather was Swedish. This is incorrect. It appears that President Trump has not mentioned having Swedish ancestry in more recent years and/or decades. He was a grand marshal of the German-American Steuben Parade in New York City.

President Trump’s patrilineal line traces back to Johann Paul Trump, who was born, c. 1727, and was from Bobenheim am Berg.

President Trump’s paternal grandfather was Friedrich/Friederich/Frederick Trump (the son of Christian Johannes Trump and Katerina/Katherina/Katharina Kober). Friedrich was German, born in Kallstadt, Pfalz. Christian was the son of Johannes Trump and Susanna Maria Bechtloff. Katerina was the daughter of Johann Jakob Kober and Elisabeth Peter.

President Trump’s paternal grandmother was Elizabeth/Elisabeth Christ (the daughter of Christian/Philipp Christ and Anna Maria/Marie Anthon/Rathon). Elizabeth was German, born in Kallstadt, Pfalz. Philipp was the son of Johannes/Johann Georg Christ and Sabina Christina Hartung. Anna was the daughter of Johannes Anthon and Eva Farny.

President Trump’s maternal grandfather was Malcolm/Calum Macleod (the son of Alexander Macleod and Anne/Ann/Annie Macleod). Malcolm was Scottish, born on the Isle of Lewis. Alexander was the son of William MacLeod and Catherine or Christian MacLeod. Anne was the daughter of Alexander Macleod and Ann Mackenzie.

President Trump’s maternal grandmother was Mary Smith (the daughter of Donald Smith and Mary Macaulay/Macauley). President Trump’s grandmother Mary was Scottish, born in Stornoway, on the Isle of Lewis. Donald Smith was the son of Duncan Smith and Henrietta MacQueen/McSwane. President Trump’s great-grandmother Mary was the daughter of John Macaulay and Isabella Murray.

Again? I never knew it stop

Hill April 21, 2017 at 1:09 pm

are you stupid? america is the most ethnically diverse place in the world. i really hope that was a bad joke.

bearboy April 21, 2017 at 2:08 pm

I agree with you @Hill. btw Neil Tennant I saw your other comments you might want to lay off of the Hitler comparisons.

fuzzybear44 April 21, 2017 at 9:59 pm

What exactly are you agreeing with?

fuzzybear44 April 21, 2017 at 9:56 pm

Are you talking to me, because ethnically diverse or not ,this country is still full of racist people

bearboy April 22, 2017 at 11:00 am

Sorry @Fuzzbear44 nothing against you I was just agree with @hill that America is a beautiful diverse country. Didn’t mean to offend you

andrew June 26, 2017 at 5:38 am

Move to Africa. Or Samoa.

bearboy June 26, 2017 at 9:11 am

I apologize in advance because I promised I wasn’t going to say anything controversial. I voted for Johnson and I know President Trump has made controversial comments but America is not a racist nation. Over 62 million American’s voted for Trump and although there is the alt-right and some crazy people, most American’s who voted for Trump (and most people who voted for Clinton) are good human beings who have a different view of how they want to see the country in the next 4 years. The reason I dislike Neil Tennant isn’t because everyone is “secretly” mixed but because he is a race baiter. I apologize for writing this post but I feel that my love of the U.S. has compelled me to make it. sincerely, Bearboy

I think choosing between, say, Walter Mondale and Ronald Reagan, or Bill Clinton and Bob Dole, or Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, would constitute the choice between “a different view of how they want to see the country in the next 4 years”. That did not apply in this situation.

When every major newspaper that endorsed every Republican for a century refuses to endorse the Republican nominee, the problem could be with the newspapers, but more likely it’s with the nominee.

But, as Bill Maher said, there is no bottom.

Unfortunately, since 1992, the Republican Party has been unable to elect nominees like John McCain or Mitt Romney. In 2032, they’ll elect Barney the Dinosaur (with a 15 million popular vote deficit, needless to say), and we’ll again hear of “a different view”.

bearboy June 26, 2017 at 9:56 am

Before I start typing a long comment I want you to know @follers that I respect you and I hope you don’t think I’m being racist. I agree Trump has made offensive comments and he is a lot more controversial than previous Republican nominees, which is one of the main reasons I couldn’t possibly vote for him. My only two points I want to make is 1. America is not an overall racist nation, not directed to you but the, “Make America Racist Again” comments from Neil Tennant. Yes he is the leader of the U.S. but there are lots of good leaders here and there are checks and balances to hopefully stop him from going overboard. 2. The Hitler comparisons coming from Tennant is too much even if Trump is racist. The comments I am annoyed with are solely with Neil Tennant. I apologize for making these controversial comments.

Why should fuzzybear leave? Since such things were relevant to the last presidential campaign, I can guess that fuzzybear has deeper roots in the United States than, say, Donald Trump, by roughly 300 years.

bearboy June 26, 2017 at 10:08 am

I have nothing against fuzzybear either.

fuzzybear44 July 13, 2018 at 2:50 pm

Well my DNA test confirmed my native American ancestry, so we can increase my roots by at least another 10,000 years

passingtime85 July 13, 2018 at 5:23 pm

Which company did you use? I only trust one really =P

fuzzybear44 July 13, 2018 at 7:35 pm

Well I used Ancestry, but I also had pictorial proof and paperwork. So it must not be a lie. My brother and sister also showed native ancestry

passingtime85 July 13, 2018 at 10:18 pm

It’s most likely not a lie. I will add this though. OVERESTIMATES several ethnicities, Native American is one of those. So take the results with a grain of salt. I would recommend getting a test from 23andme. I understand if your happy with your results, but I suggest getting a second opinion. That’s how I addressed these autosomal tests.

fuzzybear44 July 14, 2018 at 10:30 am

Well like I said, we had paperwork also and the ancestor was confirmed years ago .The DNA test was just icing on the cake. However no I was not pleased with the results, and would not be messing with this stuff again. Does the European blood get over estimated, please say yes,ha ha.

passingtime85 July 16, 2018 at 9:52 am

Yes. European admixture, from many different countries, does get overestimated by East Europe, south Europe, West Europe, Scandinavian… is very very flawed.

fuzzybear44 November 9, 2016 at 1:12 am

Those nut cases put this man in office. They have made it official, the U.S is full of crazy people. Canada here I come

madman November 9, 2016 at 1:20 am

Let’s hope Canada doesn’t decide to build a wall and make America pay for it.

neiltennant November 9, 2016 at 11:12 am

in what a world we are living in which DONALD TRUMP can become president

so sad

those guys who voted for them are mostly nickel back republicans poor people who think a billionaire can help them

fuzzybear44 November 10, 2016 at 1:24 am

Most of those people are miserable sheep who follow the leader. They need someone to hate, and blame for their miserable lives. He said all the things they wanted to say, and gave them someone to hate(and they loved him for it). He’s a saleman, and he sold those people an dream, and they brought it. After all those country bumpkins are known for being stupid people

If I was going to take a crazy guess I would say our next vice-president is going to be 81.25% Irish.

madman July 22, 2016 at 12:43 am

His false claim about having Swedish ancestry in “The Art of the Deal” could perhaps be included and refuted:

“Fred Trump [Donald’s father] was born in New Jersey in 1905. His father, who came here from Sweden as a child, owned a moderately successfull restaurant, but he was also a hard liver and a hard drinker, and he died when my father was eleven years old.”

Drea K May 6, 2016 at 5:33 pm

All this guy ever does is judge people on their looks, has he ever seen himself in the mirror??? lol

Only the dumbest dumb dumbs are voting for him… this is a free country though, you can vote for whomever you choose. But if this guy wins, that says a lot about where we’re at as a country – if this guy actually ends up winning the general election, Kanye West definitely stands a chance in 2020. lol!

neiltennant June 23, 2016 at 8:42 am

voting a right wing populist racist a la HITLER makes america better

neiltennant June 23, 2016 at 8:44 am

THAT WAS IN JULY i did not know that he will become a right wing populist and racist guy

Wussie April 17, 2011 at 7:37 am

I guessed correctly when I said I thought he is of German descent. The Scottish descent from his Mother is also a plus toward’s his intelligence. He is frugal and this is probably why he has come back from bankruptcy a few times. He is smart. Our country needs someone of his ilk to be our President.

no correction, but suggestion April 4, 2011 at 2:27 pm

Perhaps Donald Trump would like to be called GRAND DON instead of Grand pa.
