Dannel Malloy, also known as Dan Malloy, is an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as Mayor of Stamford, Connecticut, from December 1, 1995 to December 1, 2009, and the 88th governor of Connecticut, from January 5, 2011 to January 9, 2019.
Dannel was born to an Irish-American Catholic family, the youngest of eight children of Agnes Veronica (Egan) and William Francis Malloy.
He is married to executive Cathy Malloy, with whom he has three children.
