Correction: Her peruvian side is not spanish-Peruvian. It is Amerindian. She said this in an interview:
“”I am Puerto Rican and Peruvian Indian (Inca) as well as Japanese.”
http://www.latina.com/entertainment/tv/revolution-nbc-daniella-alonso#axzz2swT7yyJN

“The majority of Peruvians are indigenous (Quechua and Aymara) with mestizos being the second largest minority. She never did state she was part Spanish. Most Spanish Latin Americans state directly if they have Spanish in them like Salma Hayek’s mother who is know as Spanish-Mexican. If someone has a directly Spanish parent they would most likely state it. If Salma’s mother was like the majority(mestizo) she would just be called Mexican. I wouldn’t go saying Daniella is Spanish just by her last name. She stated she has a Peruvian father who was part Japanese. I would switch Spanish to Peruvian. Her father has possible Spanish origins like the majority of Peruvians but it is never stated he is specifically Spanish.
Correction: switch Spanish to Peruvian unless her father is directly Spanish and Japanese. I believe his Peruvian side is either mostly Amerindian or a mestizo with Japanese unless it is specifically stated that he is Spanish.”

In an interview dated November 8, 2012 at Latina.com, “REVOLUTION’S DANIELLA ALONSO ON HER CHARACTER & THE SEASON,” Daniella Alonso said:

“I am Puerto Rican and Peruvian Indian (Inca) as well as Japanese.”

Although her character, rebel fighter Nora Clayton, was killed off last season in J.J. Abrams’s Revolution on NBC, Daniella Alonso has been cast in a regular role on the upcoming Army medical drama television series “Night Shift” on NBC as “Dr. Landry Miller, a sexy, cool, fun-loving and tough Texas girl”:

I can certainly see the Japanese in here, & she has that small slightly upturned nose that many afro-Puerto Ricans tend to have & the elongated skull she most likely got got from her Spanish side

I think there’s a mistake here.
http://www.maxim.com/girls-of-maxim/daniella-alonso-0
“My mom’s Puerto Rican and my dad’s from Peru, but he’s also Japanese.” I can’t find anywhere that says her dad got “spanish”. Her dad is Peruvian which opens more of the ethno flood gates indigenous and black via peru too not just puerto rico.

ethnic June 23, 2012 at 10:54 am

I think if her father’s surname was Alonso it would indicate that he was at least partly Spanish origin.

anen87 May 5, 2013 at 2:41 pm

But you’re applying ethnicities on your own terms when it was never mentioned by the person in question. It’s like me saying African-Americans are partly English origin so I’m going list them as English because of their surnames. Us latinos don’t claim Spanish ethnicity unless it’s a close relation. neither of my grandparents are from spain or fully spanish ethnically so that’s why we are just mexican, peruvian, ect ect…

So it suppose to say Peruvian instead.

marjanel October 14, 2015 at 11:34 am

But peruvian and mexican are not considered ethnicities

anen87 June 21, 2012 at 6:30 pm

She’s really dark! she’s way darker than eva longoria who’s indigenous and eva mendes who’s got an afro grandma! Peru is Highly indigenous and also has a lot of black people, just fyi. Then again puerto rico’s got a good % of black and taino so it could be via there.

monica February 27, 2012 at 11:22 am

she kinda looks like monica raymund

TRUTHIE January 28, 2012 at 9:46 pm

Mom is afro-Puerto Rican.

storm January 28, 2012 at 10:08 pm

i thought race didn’t matter and that everyone is mixed?

LiL V4CH4 April 12, 2010 at 6:21 am

Yeah Peru does have a large Japanese population. I can see the part Japanese in her too.

anen87 June 21, 2012 at 6:47 pm

really? I really can’t tell cause it looks the same as the indigenous mixture, maybe because they’re both from the same race mongoloid. Looking at her I would have just said indigenous: taino or quechua easily japanese never crossed my mind though.
