Curt Smith is an English musician. He is the vocalist, bassist, and keyboardist for the pop rock band Tears for Fears. Roland Orzabal is also a member of the band.

Curt is the son of Norma Helena Kate (Hine) and Anthony Leonard Smith.

Curt is married to Laura Frances Pennington, with whom he has two children.

Curt’s maternal grandfather was William Henry Hine (the son of Joseph Hine, later Henry Joseph Hine, and of Ann Helena Sanger). William was born in Keynsham Bristol, Somersetshire. Joseph was born in Calton, Glasgow, Scotland, and was the son of an English soldier, Edwin Hine, of Wincanton, Somerset, and of Jane Porter, who was Australian, from Hobart, Tasmania. Ann was the daughter of James Sanger and Elizabeth Coward.

Curt’s maternal grandmother was Florence Ethel Cook (the daughter of Alfred James Cook and Kate Wallis). Alfred was the son of David Cook and Mary Ann. Kate was the daughter of John Wallis and Emma Elizabeth Brasier, later Brazier.

Curt’s matrilineal ancestry can be traced back to his third great-grandmother, Emma Fryett (c. 1825, Coggeshall, Essex – ?).

He is just very tanned in this picture.

      • neiltennant says:

no it s not just tanned but he has a darker skin color

i know this band from the 80s on and he looked always dark

        • andrew says:

I doubt you will ever understand this topic, because you are not European. Europeans love tanning. They actually enjoy to show darker skin.

Curt Smith is a multi-millionaire who lives in L.A., and he likes to tan. What a big deal is that?

          • neiltennant says:

you have only one argument ever and ever

NO im not european ! You know my ethnicity. I never claimed to be european

but i have european roots on both sides of the family.

Why do you have bias against people who were born in asia ?
By the way tanning was i did as a teen. I loved that and that gave me a good tent

but because of cancer and wrinkles i stopped that

in germany curt smith would look like a stranger. policemen would stop him

          • bablah says:

Policemen stop foreigners in Germany? Then good thing I never went there. Sounds very Nationalsozialistische.
