Craig Roberts is a Welsh actor. His roles include the films Submarine, Jane Eyre (2011), Red Lights, The First Time (2012), Comes a Bright Day, The Power Inside, Benny & Jolene, The Double (2013), 22 Jump Street, Premature, Kill Your Friends, The Fundamentals of Caring, The Current War, Tolkien, Bittersweet Symphony, and Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans, and the series The Story of Tracy Beaker, Young Dracula, and Red Oaks. He has directed the films Just Jim, which he also starred in; Eternal Beauty, and The Phantom of the Open. He also wrote the first two films.

Craig is the son of Alison and Haydn Roberts. He was raised in Maesycwmmer, Caerphilly.

Craig’s paternal grandfather was Cliff Roberts, a mime and ventriloquist artist.

Craig’s maternal grandfather was surnamed Bishop.

    The Silures were the first inhabitants of Wales, they were described as short in stature, with brown complexions, and black curled hair and dark eyes. According to some historians, the Silures were of Iberian or Near Eastern (Phoenician) origin. Roberts looks Jewish.
