All latinos come in different shapes and colors. You can have a fair-skinned, blonde hair, blue eyed Latino and you can have a dark-skinned, brown eyed, nappy headed latino or any type of features mixed. The “Afro” comes from the latinos with slave ancestry so they tend to be the darker hispanics and the lighter ones are more from the Spainard side. Unless you know your ancestry there is really no telling. Christina is Latina with black decendents.

She is latina. Get over it. You people act like all hispanic people must have white skin. There are white skin, tan skin, brown skin, and even asian hispanics. As far as I know and seen for myself. She is Cuban as she said, she just has a darker skintone.

cuba has a history sort of like the us, there is a seperation between the whites and blacks, so yes black cubans and mulatto cuban identify with there African heritage and say they are black or Afro Cuban, Milian- knows she is black!!! She’s not stupid like the ones who are darker than shaka zulu and say they aint black lol!

Well I’m from Cuba and I’ll say this, she is obviously not “black” she is what in Cuba is called a Mulata, a mix of Euro and African ancestry and her European background seems very prominent in her features. Maybe in the US she is black because of the one drop rule, but not in Cuba. That being said her African features are prominent too and it’s obvious she is an Afrodescendant. I’m like her and I’m actually from the same province as her parents, my mom is white and dad is black and I refer to myself as a Mulato too not black, although obviously I’m an Afrodescendant and I would never deny that. It just doesn’t make sense to me to call myself black when I look nothing like a native west African Yoruban or Fon. Maybe since she was born and raised in the US she identifies as black because she is more Americanized and I can respect that. I just wanted to let people know how it is in Cuba. Anyways, in Cuba most people are either Black, White, and to a lesser degree Asian (Chinese), or a mixture of any of these – some people even have prominent native ancestry but no where as close to places like Mexico or Peru.. this is why Latino isn’t a race because you can be of any race and be from Latin America. In Cuba someone like her would without a doubt be seen as an Afrodescendant not just some random dark skinned person. Latino is a junk term that has nothing to do with race. Sorry for the essay, just wanted to say how it is. :)

I am African Amercian, Dominican, and Filipino. What would I say i am? I have like a coppery brown skin color and people think I’m lying because they say Dominicans and Filipinos can’t be my skin color. It upsets me because I known what I am.

“you white girls”? listen, “you black girl”, don’t be a hypocrite and tell us what to do. I am pale and proud of it cuz it’s how God made me and unlike you, I will stand out with my creamy skin in a sea of bright brownish orange. :)

You must be like 12? what kind of ghetto idiot calls people “hoes”? Grow up, small child.

People really need to stop arguing about her nationality obvisouly like she said she is afro-cubun Afro=african. Cuban meaning she has cuban in her or thats the ancestory or heritage so much hate for nothing. there are black latinos and when i say that i mean that some have african ancestory or black blood same thing.Black people were enslaved everywhere so dont be surprised when a latin person or any other people of different races say they are black or have black ancestory now there is white latins when i say that i mean the ones with more european blood because as we all know white people did mix with really everyone also there is native blood in latins.(hispanic) Everyone with eyes can tell wich ones are black or white so please stop with the arguing about if shes black or white clearly she leans more on the black side. And if you didnt know black people are mixed with alot anyway just not her. And to those white latinas who are making it seem like were white not black at all its kind of disgusting how bad your making it seem when latins are 13% black it may be alot more and 30% european those are the ones that look more white!

Christina self identifies as afro-latina bcs latinas can white, black and mixed race. I.e JLo she is a white latina. Xtina has played black girl and latina roles so she knows exactly who she is let her be what she identifies.
In plus most of her boyfriends if not all are black so by who u r dating u can tell where u feel most comfortable racially, she has proven to feel more afro-cuban. She is beautiful too.
