ok peoplecubans are not basically black, you guys think that just cause someone looks black theyre only black take a sec and remember no ones actually only one thing their roots might’ve come from somwhere else. So if christinas parents are afro whatver i wouldnt assume theyre all black their african roots are. Im fully cuban both parenta were born and raised in cuba my mom was the white kind even tjhoung shes mixed with the darker and lighter toned cubans and some native, chinese and spaniard and my dad as well but his skin tone was a bit darker. now i was born in the u.s and you can assume i look black but then again you would think im mixed with something. Many think im native and black but my point is what irritates me the most is that full americans black white etc always have to say your just one thing no matter if your chinese mixed with black and white whatever u come out looking like your just that and remember theres only one race in this world which is just the human race and i think everyone should forget everything else

You guys who think you absolutely are correct are quite wrong and sound ridiculous. An AFRO-CUBAN, like any other nationality with “AFRICAN” roots… simply means that the roots of that person, are of AFRICAN decent, this is their ancestry. There are afro- of every raise but Caucasian. Afro-Greek, Sicilian(Afro-Italians), Afro-Puertorriquenos, Afro-Dominicanos, Afro-Mexicanos… Christina Milian (Christine Flores) is Cuban-American born of CUBAN parents who are of African decent, ancestry… this does not mean her parents were black or African, it means her parents roots are from Africa and not from Europe or of Indian race. Most Carib- Hispanic countries (Especially speaking of Dominican Republic and Cuba) as well as the U.S. territory Puerto Rico are roots of either Spaniards, Africans, or Native Indians (Tainos – Puerto Rico) which is why the people of many nationalities look differently. Some Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, and Cubans as well as many other races… Look “Black” where others look more European or Indian. This is only because their ancestry. But they are still FULL 100% Hispanic despite where their roots are from, their color is just due to their ancestry. Just because someone of Caucasian race has someone black in their family generations ago due to a slave marrying a white woman, doesn’t make that person BLACK. that goes for ANY race. It just adds character and shows their roots somewhere down the line but that person will still be white if after the slave only were white people. She is CUBAN-AMERICAN, and speaks spanish because her HISPANIC AFRO-CUBAN born parents only spoke spanish. not because she is a black girl who adapted to a spanish language and heritage. How ignorant do many of you sound. Speaking on something with little to no Knowledge is ignorant. DO RESEARCH. And just for your knowledge… even though it doesnt relate to christina’s background because she is INDEED latina as well as her PARENTS, but if 2 AFRICANS for example moved to PUERTO RICO and had a child… THE PARENTS would be considered AFRICAN because they are born in AFRICA and are african by blood but the CHILD on the other hand would be considered African by blood but CUBAN, PUERTO RICAN(BORICUA), DOMINICAN, by nationality. Nothing will change that. They are who they are. PERIOD.
