Chris has stated that he has Pamunkey Native American ancestry. It is not clear if this Native American ancestry has been verified/documented.

Alot of you people are so ignorant! he is mixed. that is that. his mothers father is irish. she is OBVIOUSLY MIXED. and so is he. Also, he stated on twitter that he is from the Pamunkey Indian Tribe. you all want to just throw people in a black box. he is mixed. and that is that. His grandfather is irish. that makes him biracial and or mixed. biracial meaning a parent or grandparent is of a different race.

His maternal grandparents are Eric Hawkins (born 1916) and Esther Fox (born 1940, died 2003). His maternal grandfather is Irish-American.

Why emphasizing on skin color that it not belongs to you. Brown as in not black. But still closer to skin light/ European skin. Black people are not known for Brown skin.

Chris Brown is obviously mixed race. His mom has a lot of white blood and well his dad, no black person in the U.S. is full black. So he’s mixed – obviously. You Americans love to pigeon hole people as either white or black. :P
Chris Brown’s black, with a slight hint of native. Not that I’m considering black people cannot have light skin. Because, some black people just have naturally lighter skin than other black people, without any racial mixture. Besides that, he has black features. Such as, his nose, his facial structure, his hair, his chin, and his ears. So, yeah, he appears to be slightly mixed. But overall, he’s black and considered black.
