Chad Hurley is an American webmaster and businessperson. He is one of the founders of YouTube, along with Steve Chen and Jawed Karim. He also co-founded MixBit. He was CEO of YouTube, from February 14, 2005 to October 29, 2010.

Chad is the son of Joann and Donald Hurley. He is married to Elise Walden.

Chad’s paternal grandfather was Charles Donald Hurley (the son of Charles Edward “Charlie” Hurley and Mary C. Shatley). Chad’s grandfather Charles was born in North Carolina. Chad’s great-grandfather Charles was the son of Elisa Howard Hurley and Alpha Jane Barker. Mary was the daughter of Riley Shatley and America Haviner Massey.
