He has played for Cariduros de Fajardo, Cangrejeros de Santurce, the Toronto Raptors, the Denver Nuggets, TAU Cerámica, the Utah Jazz, the Detroit Pistons, the Orlando Magic, Maccabi Tel Aviv, the Miami Heat, the Boston Celtics, of the National Basketball Association (NBA), Beşiktaş, Galatasaray, FC Barcelona, and Leones de Ponce.
He is married to Xiomara Escobar, with whom he has three children. His daughter Gabriella has played college volleyball.
Carlos is said to be a cousin of actor Benicio del Toro.

Recent DNA testing on the island has shown that a MAJORITY OF PUERTO RICANS 68.9% HAD MORE NATIVE AMERICAN OR “AMERINDIAN” TO QUOTE THE WEBSITE, ANCESTRY THAN ANYTHING ELSE SO PLEASE STOP ASSUMING THAT.
