Camille Paglia is an American academic, author, and social critic.

Camille is the daughter of Lydia Ann (Colapietro) and Pasquale “Patsy” J. Paglia. Her parents were originally from Italy. Camille has stated that her father’s side of the family were from the Campanian towns of Avellino, Benevento, and Caserta. Her mother was born in Ceccano, Province of Frosinone, Lazio, Italy, and moved to the U.S. at the age of five.

Camille’s paternal grandparents were Pasquale Paglia (the son of Nicola Paglia and Rosaria Mastrangela) and Alfonsina Signorelli (the daughter of Losimo Signorelli and Rosa Palma).

Camille’s maternal grandparents were Felice Colapietro and Vincenza Ricci.
