Cameron Diaz is an American actress, model, entrepreneur, producer, and author. Her roles include The Mask, The Last Supper, My Best Friend’s Wedding, There’s Something About Mary, In Her Shoes, Shrek, Vanilla Sky, The Counselor, and Charlie’s Angels and its sequel.

Cameron is the daughter of Billie, an import/export agent, and Emilio Diaz, an oil company foreman. Cameron is married to musician Benji Madden, with whom she has two children.

Cameron’s paternal grandparents were of Cuban descent [with Spanish, including Asturian, ancestry]; her father also had one eighth Spanish-Venezuelan ancestry. Cameron’s mother has English, Scottish, Irish, and German ancestry. Cameron has also stated that she has Native American ancestry on her mother’s side (sometimes specified as Cherokee Native American). It is not clear if this ancestry has been verified/documented. There are no Native American ancestors, Cherokee or otherwise, in Cameron’s mother’s recent and relatively recent family tree.

Cameron’s paternal grandfather was Emilio Cadiz Diaz Jr. (the son of Emilio F. “El Gato” Díaz and Joaquina “Queenie” Cabranes Cádiz). Cameron’s grandfather Emilio was born in Tampa, Florida. Cameron’s great-grandfather Emilio was a Cuban emigrant, from Havana. Joaquina was also a Cuban emigrant, and was the daughter of a man surnamed Cabranes, and of a Venezuelan emigrant, Antonia Cádiz Sánchez, who was of Spanish descent.

Cameron’s paternal grandmother was Gertrudes Lavin (the daughter of Luis Lavín García and Mercedes Duarte Alonso). Gertrudes was born in Florida. Luis was born in Cuba, to a Spanish-born father, Francisco Felipe Lavín, and a Cuban-born mother, Gertrudes García. Mercedes was also born in Cuba, also to a Spanish-born father, Manuel Duarte, and a Cuban-born mother, Mercedes Alonso.

Cameron’s maternal grandfather was William Marion Early (the son of John Winchester Early and Chloe Kendall Allen). William was born in Missouri. John was the son of William Robin Early and Emma Rozella Fusselman. Chloe was the daughter of Charles Marion Allen and Catherine Delcina/Della Babb.

Cameron’s maternal grandmother was Elizabeth Jeanette Waddingham (the daughter of Joseph Herbert Waddingham and Elizabeth Rankin Withers). Cameron’s grandmother Elizabeth was born in California. Joseph was born in Kingston, Frontenac, Ontario, Canada, the son of Joseph Waddingham, who was born in North Cave, Yorkshire, England, and of Frances Anna Kels/Kells, who was born in Templeport Parish, County Caven, Ireland. Cameron’s great-grandmother Elizabeth was born in Illinois, to an English father, Richard James Withers, and a mother from Missouri, Nancy/Nannie S. Scott.

She strikes me as kind of polish ,maybe her german ancestors had some roots there. If you minus her pigment/eye color though and gave her brown eyes she looks half native american.

hell ya shes latina , the name “Diaz” is a spanish last name. it means “days”

  3. Jeanna says:

She’s very unique looking and I always thought she looked Native American….something about her face and cheekbones. What pisses me off is that the media always treats her like she’s some ultra white All-American and she’s not!!

    • ethnic says:

I agree Jeanna, the media always tries to fit celebs into a certain role according to their appearance.

    • EddieHaskell says:

How do you know she’s not? The media portrays her as Native American. She might be part Cherokee, she might be part Blackfoot, or she might be none of the above. Her Father might be descended from white Cuban Spaniards. That could make her ultra white All-American. You never know. Ever wonder why she has blue eyes?

      • Jeanna says:

The media has never mentioned it….ever. By ‘white All-American’, I meant of pure European descent. Blue eyes can be a 25% recessive trait. When have you ever seen the media talk about her heritage?

        • EddieHaskell says:

Spanish, English, Irish, German seems to fit.

          • Jeanna says:

@Eddie I’ve never seen it mentioned in magazines, newspapers, etc., and until about a month ago I used to read about celebrities obsessively. Where did you hear her ancestry mentioned?

          • Jeanna says:

Spanish, Irish, English, and German are all European races (Spanish not so much, but there is still a possibility that her Spanish ancestry was the very light caucasian kind). So you’re saying the source called her European, which does not do her Native American ancestry justice.

        • Katie says:

This is how blue eyes works – you need to have the alelles GG,

AA In Europeans, 85% chance of brown eyes; 14% chance of green eyes; 1% chance of blue eyes.

AG In Europeans, 56% chance of brown eyes; 37% chance of green eyes; 7% chance of blue eyes.

GG In Europeans, 72% chance of blue eyes; 27% chance of green eyes; 1% chance of brown eye

          I have the alelle AG.
This is why when I compare my genome with 15 different users this morning to see what our kids would look like funnily an african american guy gives me the highest chance of a blue eyed kid! why>? because he has the GG alelle probably from some wayback white ancestor and none of the others did.

He doesn’t have blue eyes probably because one of his parents ‘is AA ,but it’s still sitting there in him.
If He procreates with an AG like me or a GG the kid will almost certainly be blue eyed.

Same with pigment genes – I have one allele/snp that denotes mixed colouring, and another one that denotes pale skin and black hair.Which is true my colouring is not tanned nor paleish pink – but some ashy white color inbetween, and I also have jet black hair.

The tool i used is called an inheritance calculator btw from 23andme.

          • fuzzybear says:

            To Katie

What is this 23and me you keep talking about?

          • Adriana says:

23and me is a company that does dna tests (www.23andme.com); you can get one concerning your ancestry, one concerning your health, or a combo. It gives you details as in how much % of this or that you are, and what your haplo (somethings) are, y-dna and mtdna, it gives you extensive details I think.

It’s supposedly the best. I’m going to order one next month! =)

          • fuzzybear says:

            To Adrianna

Hey 1% Thank you,but I had already found it myself,I was just being lazy. You been quiet for a while, how you been?

          • Adriana says:

To Fuzzybear; I’ve been good but law school is a pain, it’s not that hard, but it’s a LOT, it’s very time consuming. So I haven’t been on that much. I’ve been stalling a little to be honest, but it’s my third week and I can’t afford that anymore xD.

How have you been? And what do you think of 23andme?

          • fuzzybear says:

            To Adrianna

I’m okay I guess, and that 23andme is expensive. It’s my mother who wants to do it,because her father side of the family she knows nothing about. Also I’m curious myself,I didn’t know I had so many white grandpeople.Out of the last 16,9 were white, and out of the other 7 not one was full black(4 creole,2 mulatto/creole,1 Afro-latino)

          • fuzzybear says:

            To Adriana

Oh when you get your law degree,we can get together and stick it to the man, right SISTA

          • Adriana says:

If he has GG that means he probably blue eyes, ‘black’ people can have blue eyes too, especially of mixed heritage. If one of his parents is AA, that doesn’t mean he ‘probably doesn’t have blue eyes’. Since AA is a general term for african, and some other mixes. Lot’s of AA’s have 10-30% European ancestry. Even if both his parents are AA, there is a chance he could have blue eyes, especially considering he has GG, like you side yourself, just 1% he has brown eyes so. Where I lived there were many AA’s and there were enough AA’s with green eyes, some with blue(rarer).

          • Katie says:

I meant AA alelle not AA [african american] and ive talked to him he has hazel eyes.

You have to get a GG from one parent, and either another GG or a AG from the other to have Blue eyes.

          • Adriana says:

Oh I understand the basics of biology :-p sorry I thought you meant African American. Yes then it makes sense, I’m sorry for the misunderstanding.

          • Katie says:

both of his parents are african american and he looks typically african american.

          • Anonymous says:

Her ethnicity is not that different from other white Americans. The only thing I see different is Spanish, which is still European. They treat her like a ‘ultra white American’ as you say because she is one. I also find it funny that her Native American ancestry came from her white American mother and not her Cuban father.

    • anakaterina says:

She is white, get over it and ever seen a real native American? Probably not and you’re stupid

  4. izzy says:
