Bob Ehrlich is an American lawyer and politician. He is also known as Robert Ehrlich. A Republican, he was a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Maryland, from January 3, 1995 to January 3, 2003, and Governor of Maryland, from January 15, 2003 to January 17, 2007.

Bob is the son of Nancy (Bottorf) and Robert Leroy Ehrlich. He is married to Kendel Ehrlich, with whom he has two children.

Bob’s paternal grandfather was Clickner Ehrlich (the son of Herman Otto Ehrlich and Susan A. Dove). Clickner was born in Maryland. Herman was born in Bavaria, Germany. Susan was the daughter of George William Henry Dove and Mary Ellen Whalen.

Bob’s paternal grandmother was named Margaret May Kraus (the daughter of Charles P. Kraus and Mary). Margaret was born in Maryland, to a father of German descent, and to a mother of Irish descent.

Bob’s maternal grandfather was Roswell/Ross Benjamin Bottorf (the son of Hiram Burlington Bottorf and Ada Victoria Hockman). Roswell was born in Pennsylvania.
