Billy Gibbons is an American musician, singer, songwriter, producer, and actor. He is lead vocalist and guitarist of the rock band ZZ Top.

Billy is the son of Lorraine Estelle (Duffy) and Frederick Royal Gibbons. He is married to Gilligan Stillwater.

His father was born in New York, to English parents.

Billy’s paternal grandparents were William S. Gibbons and Emma.

Billy’s maternal grandfather was Frank Joseph Duffy (the son of Peter D./A. Duffy and Jessie G. Matlock). Frank was born in Texas. Peter was born in Washington D.C., to Irish parents, his mother being named Mary. Jessie was born in Texas, to a father from either Missouri or Scotland, and a mother from either Louisiana or Missouri.

Billy’s maternal grandmother was Katherine Pearl Robinson (the daughter of Homer Frank Robinson and Sarah Carpenter Childs). Katherine was born in Tennessee. Homer was the son of George M. Robinson and E. Harriett Traywick. Sarah was the daughter of W. A. Childs and Mary Kathryn/Catherine.
