Bernard Tomic is an Australian professional tennis player.

He was born in Stuttgart, Germany, to a Croatian father, Ivica/John, and a Bosniak mother, Adisa/Ady. They left Socialist Yugoslavia several years before he was born. Later, in 1996, they moved to Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, where Bernard was raised. His sister, Sara Tomic, is also a professional tennis player. He is 6′5″.

After a feud with Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley in 2010, Bernard’s father threatened to have Bernard represent Croatia rather than Australia.

Bernard’s maternal grandfather is named Osman Vatić.
