Bahar Soomekh is an Iranian-born American actress and environmental activist. She is known for her roles in the films Crash and Saw III, among others.

Bahar was born in Tehran, Iran, to a devout Jewish family. She moved with her parents and sister, professor and author Saba Soomekh, to Los Angeles, United States in 1979, to escape the Islamic Revolution of Iran. Bahar speaks fluent English, Persian, Spanish, and some Hebrew.

Bahar is married to Clayton Frech, with whom she has three children. Clayton is a Jew by choice. Among their children is Ezra Frech, a Paralympic athlete, who competes in high jump, long jump and sprinting events in international level events.

Bahar’s paternal grandfather was named Aghajan Soumekh.

Bahar’s paternal grandmother was Touba Kimiabakhsh (the daughter of Rabi Kimiabakhsh and Sormeh Emrani Kimiabakhsh). Touba was born in Hamedan, Hamadan Province, Iran. Rabi was the son of Meir Kimiabakhsh and Morvarid Lalezari. Sormeh was the daughter of Morad Tabrizi Kimibakhsh and Tavous Ebrani.

Bahar’s maternal grandfather was named Soleiman Saidnia.

Bahar’s maternal grandmother was the daughter of Rabishimon Neisan and Anis Agha Youdim. Anis Agha was the daughter of Hayim Eshagh and Bala Khanom Youdim.

    Her ethnicity is inaccurate. Her mother is Kenyan, Indian, Lebanese, and Arabian. Her father is Salvadorian, Nicaraguan, Dutch, Moroccan, Fijian, and Malaysian.

      You must be right. Though she was born in Tehran and her surname is a typical Persian Jewish family name, we all know Iran is an old multicultural society where people from all over the world settled down, especially from Fiji and El Salvador.
