Arseniy Yatsenyuk is a Ukrainian politician, economist, and lawyer. He served as the 15th Prime Minister of Ukraine, from 27 February, 2014 to 14 April, 2016. He has also been Minister of Economy, from 27 September, 2005 to 4 August, 2006, Minister of Foreign Affairs, from 21 March, 2007 to 4 December, 2007, and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, from 4 December, 2007 to 12 November, 2008.

He is the son of Maria Grigoriievna (Bakaj) and Petro Ivanovich Yatsenyuk. He is married to Tereziya Victorivna Hur, with whom he has two children.

One of Arseniy’s ancestors was a citizen of Greater Romania, from the region around Chernivtsi. It is not clear if they were of ethnic Romanian ancestry. Similarly, Arseniy has also been said to have Jewish ancestry, although it does not appear any evidence has ever been produced to support this statement.

Arseniy’s paternal grandfather was named Ivan Yatsenyuk.

Arseniy’s maternal grandfather was named Grigori Bakaj.

His ancestor being from around Chernivtsi while it was under Romanian control doesn’t mean they were Romanian. They could have been Ukrainian or Jewish.
I tried reading the link in Romanian, but it only says that his grandparent was born in Romania and that he understands Romanian.
Well all of my Great grandparents were citizens of Austria-Hungary and some of them understood German. That doesn’t make me Austrian.
