Andrew Breitbart was an American entrepreneur, media critic, conservative publisher, journalist, author, and television and radio personality. He was an editor for the Drudge Report website, and a commentator for The Washington Times. He founded the web site Breitbart.com.

His biological parents have been described as having been Irish American. He was adopted at three weeks old, by Arlene Mae (Blewett) and Gerald Yale Breitbart. He was raised Jewish, and was Bar Mitzvah. His adoptive father was from a Jewish family, and his adoptive mother was a convert to Judaism.

Andrew was married to Susannah Bean, until his death. The couple has four children. Susannah is the daughter of actor Orson Bean and fashion designer Carolyn Maxwell.

Gerald Breitbart was the son of David Breitbart and Ruth Esther Goldman. David was born in New York. Ruth was born in Illinois.
