My paternal grandmother was a Veracruzana [from Veracruz], who had African blood… my maternal grandfather was Spanish, from Cantabria; my maternal grandmother was also the daughter of Spaniards, from Asturias. My paternal grandfather, Lencho, Lorenzo López, was a Campesino [from Campeche], indigenous; I told you that he was a laborer and then ejidatario [worked in an area of communal land used for agriculture]. He died working the land, he is buried in an ejido in Campeche. He was my paternal grandfather, and he married Beatriz Ramón, who, I told you, was jarocha [from southern Veracruz] from the same Papaloapan basin, and since she had African blood, it turns out that I am a mixture of all races.

President López’s paternal grandmother was Candelaria Ramón Carrillo (the daughter of Macedonio Ramón Delgado and Filomena Carrillo Durán).

Esteban was a civil guard, from Santa Maria del Camí, Balearic Islands, and was the son of Esteban Obrador and Juana María Mayol. Felipa was the daughter of Ruperto Revuelta Solórzano and Luisa Antonia López Lavín.

He definitely has more Indigenous ancestry and very little to no African ancestry. Change that.

  2. Manila says:

AMLO also has African (from his paternal grandmother) and Indigenous (from his paternal grandfather) ancestries.

Mi abuela paterna era veracruzana, tenía sangre africana.

I can’t verify if Isabel was indeed an Asturian, since she was from Campeche.

Add Asturian as part of his Spanish ancestry, and Catalan as part of his Mexican ancestry, but away from his Spanish ancestry.
