Anders Fogh Rasmussen is a Danish politician. He served as Prime Minister of Denmark, from 27 November, 2001 to 5 April, 2009, and the 12th Secretary General of NATO, from 1 August, 2009 to 1 October, 2014, as well as Minister of Economic Affairs, from 18 December, 1990 to 19 November, 1992, and Leader of Venstre, from 18 March, 1998 to 17 May, 2009, among other duties.

Anders is the son of Knud Rasmussen and Martha Andersen Fogh. Anders is married to Anne-Mette Jacobsen, with whom he has three children.

Anders is not related to his immediate predecessor Poul Nyrup Rasmussen and successor Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

Anders’ patrilineal ancestry can be traced back to his third great-grandfather, Jens Hansen Fynboe.

Anders’ paternal grandfather was Rasmus Rasmussen (the son of Christian Rasmussen and Hansine Christine Jensen). Anders’ grandfather Rasmus was born in Aastrup, Gammelsogn, Djurs Nørre, Randers. Christian was the son of Rasmus Jensen and Mariane Christensdatter. Hansine was the daughter of Jens Pedersen Cleme and Mette Rasmusdatter.

Anders’ paternal grandmother was Jenny Karoline Sørensen (the daughter of Harald Anton Jensenius Sørensen and Karen Marie Henriksen). Jenny was born in Høberg, Ålsø, Djurs Sønder, Randers. Harald was the son of Hans Ludvig Sørensen and Ane Marie Pedersen. Karen was the daughter of Søren Hendrichsen and Mikkeline Pedersen.

Anders’ maternal grandfather was Alfred Andersen Fogh (the son of Søren Andersen Fogh and Petrea Kristine Pedersen Ottesen). Alfred was born in Villersö, Randers amt, Midtjylland. Søren was the son of Anders Sørensen Fogh and Christiane Sørensen Fogh. Anders’ great-great-grandparents Anders and Christiane were both born with the same surname. Petrea was the daughter of Anthon Pedersen Ottesen and Mette Marie Pedersen.

Anders’ maternal grandmother was Oda Henriette Jensine Busk Hansen (the daughter of Otto Helmand Hansen and Sofie Rasmine Lovise Andersen). Oda was born in Robstrup, Gammelsogn, Randers amt, Midtjylland. Otto was the son of Otto Helmand Hansen Bjørnholm and Jensine Caroline Rasmussen Busk. Sofie was the daughter of Anders Peder Andersen and Juliane Jørgensen.

Anders’ matrilineal ancestry can be traced back to his sixth great-grandmother, Mette Marie Sørensdatter.
