You are confusing race and ethnicity. The United Nations recognises over 5,000 ethnic groups. In relation to race, most people accept that there are four main racial types – Negroid, Caucasoid, Mongoloid and Australoid. Some people also add Capoid to that list. Jewish people are Caucasoid due to the fact that Semitic is a sub-group of Caucasoid.
