    I doubt he was born Jewish. In that link it says: “Clare grew up in London with almost no Jewish connection, celebrating minimally until his teens.”

      For some reason I thought neiltennant made this comment, but now I noticed it was madman. Good thing you quoted “celebrating minimally” – did you happen to also grow up minimally celebrating Jewish holidays? Is this common?

        He’s from London, not from the north of England.

        “I’m Jewish, and I loved the idea of the Jewish Sabbath, that was always something I really enjoyed and loved. And one week I just really needed to get out of the mentality and the group I was in… so I went to a very Orthodox family in the East part of London, and I ended up staying for a long time with this family, and it really changed my life.”
