Ethnicity:
*French, 1/4 Spanish-Mexican, small amounts of Belgian (Walloon and Flemish), Scottish, English, European Royal, remote Italian (father)

Albert II is the reigning monarch of the Principality of Monaco. He is the son of Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, and the American actress Grace Kelly. He is married to Charlene, Princess of Monaco (Charlene Wittstock) (pictured above), with whom he has two children. He has two other children, including Jazmin Grace Grimaldi.

His father’s ancestry was French, 1/4 Spanish-Mexican, small amounts of Belgian (Walloon and Flemish), Scottish, English, European Royal, and remote Italian. His mother was of Irish and German descent. He has Martinique-born and Haiti-born ancestors, of French descent.

Albert II’s paternal grandfather was Count Pierre de Polignac (the son of Count Maxence de Polignac and Susana Mariana de la Torre y Mier). Count Maxence was the son of Count Charles de Polignac, who was born in Paris, France, and of Caroline Joséphine Le Normand de Morando, who was born in Fort-de-France, Martinique. Susana was born in Mexico, the daughter of Spanish parents, Isidoro Fernando de la Torre y Carsí and María Luisa de Mier y Celis. Count is a title.

Albert II’s paternal grandmother was Princess Charlotte, Duchess of Valentinois (the daughter of Louis II Grimaldi, Prince of Monaco, and of Marie Juliette Louvet). Albert II’s grandmother Charlotte was born in Constantine, Algeria. Louis II was born in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany, the son of Albert I, Prince of Monaco, who had a French father and a Belgian mother (as well as approximately 1/16th Italian roots), and of Lady Mary Victoria Douglas-Hamilton, who was born in Scotland, of Scottish, English, French, and European Royal descent. Albert II’s great-grandmother Marie Juliette was born in Algeria, the daughter of Jacques Henri Louvet and Joséphine Elmire Piedefer.

One of Albert’s five times great-grandfather was novelist William Thomas Beckford.

Albert II’s maternal grandfather was John “Jack” Brendan Kelly (the son of John Henry Kelly and Mary Ann/Anne Costello). Albert II’s great-grandfather John was Irish, the son of Brian/Bernard Kelly and Honora Margaret McLaughlin. Mary Ann was also born in Ireland, the daughter of Walter Costello and Anne Burke.

Albert II’s maternal grandmother was Margaret Katherine Majer (the daughter of Carl Majer/Maier and Margaretha Berg). Carl was born in Schloss Helmsdorf, Wurttemberg, Germany, the son of Johann Christian Karl Majer and Luise Wilhelmine Mathilde Adam, both from Tubingen. Albert II’s great-grandmother Margaretha was born in Heppenheim, Germany, the daughter of Georg/George Berg, from Walderlenbach, and of Elisabetha Röhrig, from Sonderbach.

@ madman

you should do a revision of his (recent) ancestry. This is a start: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_II,_Prince_of_Monaco#Ancestry

Also I would split between
* (father)
* (mother) -> Irish, German

His ethnicity is:
*French, 1/4 Spanish, small amounts of Belgian, Scottish, English, European Royal, remote Italian (father)
*Irish, German (mother)

He has Martinique-born and Haiti-born ancestors of French descent. His Belgian ancestry includes both Walloon and Flemish. He has no ancestors from Monaco (whose parents weren’t from somewhere else). His great-grandmother was born in Mexico, of Spanish descent (I don’t know if it should make him “Spanish-Mexican” or not).

I added some info:

Albert’s paternal grandfather was Count Pierre de Polignac (the son of Count Maxence de Polignac and Susana Mariana de la Torre y Mier). Count Maxence was the son of Count Charles de Polignac, who was born in Paris, France, and Caroline Joséphine Le Normand de Morando, who was born in Fort-de-France, Martinique. Susana was born in Mexico, the daughter of Spanish parents, Isidoro Fernando de la Torre y Carsí and María Luisa de Mier y Celis. Count is a title.

Albert’s paternal grandmother was Princess Charlotte, Duchess of Valentinois (the daughter of Louis II Grimaldi, Prince of Monaco, and of Marie Juliette Louvet). Albert’s grandmother Charlotte was born in Constantine, Algeria. Louis II was the son of Albert I, Prince of Monaco, who had a French father and a Belgian mother (as well as approximately 1/16th Italian roots), and of Lady Mary Victoria Hamilton, who was born in Scotland, of Scottish, English, French, and European Royal, descent. Marie was the daughter of Jacques Henri Louvet and Joséphine Elmire Piedefer.

One of Albert’s five times great-grandfather was novelist William Thomas Beckford.

Lady Mary Victoria Hamilton was the daughter of William Hamilton, 11th Duke of Hamilton (the son of Alexander Hamilton, 10th Duke of Hamilton and Susan Euphemia Beckford) and of Princess Marie Amelie of Baden.
