Adam Lambert is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He was the runner-up on the eighth season of American Idol. Known for his dynamic vocal performances, he has sold over three million albums and five million singles worldwide. His songs include “Time for Miracles,” “For Your Entertainment,” “Whataya Want from Me,” “If I Had You,” “Ghost Town,” and, as a featured artist, “Hold On.” He is usually described as the first openly gay artist to top the album charts, with Trespassing in 2012. Since the early 2010s, Adam has been lead vocalist of musical collaboration Queen + Adam Lambert, with Brian May and Roger Taylor. He has founded non-profit Feel Something Foundation, which participates in philanthropy and LGBTQ+ and human rights activism, including education, the arts, suicide prevention, mental health, and homelessness, centered on the LGBTQ+ community.

Adam is the son of Leila, a dental hygienist, and Eber Lambert, a program manager for Novatel. His father has English, 3/32 Norwegian, 1/32 Danish, and a small amount of German, Irish, and French, ancestry. Adam’s mother is Jewish, of Romanian Jewish, Russian Jewish, Polish Jewish, and Lithuanian Jewish descent. Adam was raised in the Jewish faith. He grew up mostly in San Diego, California.

Adam’s patrilineal line can be traced to Roger Lambert, who was born, c. the 1600s, in England.

Adam’s paternal grandfather was Lloyd Milton Lambert, Jr. (the son of Lloyd Milton Lambert and Amelia Edelene Ramsey). Adam’s grandfather Lloyd was born in Washington. Adam’s great-grandfather Lloyd was the son of Lloyd Rutherford Lambert and Alice Amanda Johnson; Alice was the daughter of Adam Columbus Johnson, whose father was Norwegian and whose mother was Danish, and of Minnie Marie Anderson, who was born in Norway.

Adam’s paternal grandmother was Ora Marie Spencer (the daughter of Herchel/Herschel Woodley Spencer and Ora Marie Moore). Adam’s grandmother Ora was born in Virginia. Herchel was the son of William W. Spencer and Lucy H. Adam’s great-grandmother Ora was the daughter of William Edward Moore and Mary Lucy Smith.

Adam’s maternal grandfather was Merwin H. Mitchel (the son of Leon Mitchel and Anna Hirsch). Merwin was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Romanian Jewish parents.

Adam’s maternal grandmother was Annette Marks (the daughter of Abraham L. Dubitsky/Marks and Mollie Kaufman/Kauffman). Annette was born in Massachusetts, to Russian Jewish parents, also with Polish Jewish and Lithuanian Jewish roots. Abraham was the son of Marks “Max” Dubitsky and Dora Shon. Mollie was the daughter of Solomon Kaufman, and of a woman surnamed Friedman.

    not sure Lambert is a German surname. Christopher Lambert for what I know is French, also I’ve heard a Scottish footballer, now coach, named Paul Lambert.
